In 1987 while the festivity for the winners of the international competition of "LOANO ELETTRA" were terminated, some of the major estimator of CW present at the manifestation proposed the creation of a club for all of the people who loves and believes in the beauty of telegraphic art. 

To be a members you don't need to be one of the first on the list of the Dxers, or be one of the fastest transmissioners with a major number of QSL, but be one who loves to use telegraphic communication throw radio and to transmit this love to all like the big teacher did to us. 

This was how our deceased Libero Meriggi I1YXN,the president of the A.R.I. of Loano, with the push of ours know shipping agent Baldur DJ6SI, started the club. 

This idea was presented to the Marquise MARIA CRISTINA MARCONI, who was the godmother of the Loano Elettra premiation, and took with very enthusiasm the initiative taking on the task.  

The Marquise after gave us an original picture of GUGLIEMO MARCONI unpublished made on board of his Elettra on the summer of 1936, so after we improved the rules and stamped the degree on May 8, 1988 with the presence of his wife and his daughter we became the official MARCONI CLUB.

At the present, after 18 years from the fondation, the Club has a considerable amount of members: more then 700 fans, some of them are famous name, in 41 countries.
